In holiday resort Citta Romana in Hellevoetsluis (ZH) you will find complete relaxation. The park is surrounded by beautiful nature, while at the same time the liveliness of the city is within arm's reach. If you are ready for a cultural outing or a lunch out, you can be in bustling Rotterdam within 30 minutes.

The main building of the resort is home to Restaurant & Evenementenlocatie Duinhoek. This restaurant features a beautiful terrace by the pond for ultimate relaxation. The decling on the terrace hd seen its best days however. Therefore, Aphoutgroup chose to refurbish the terrace, ensuring it would last for several decades to come.

The revamped terrace at Citta Romana was made using Cumaru. Cumaru is a popular hardwood species native to South America. We like to call Cumaru wood a "true all-rounder''. This type of hardwood is renowned for its favourable properties such as exceptional durability, strength class (D60) and attractive colour. For this project, Van den Berg Hardwood supplied FSC-certified Cumaru decking boards(215-610 cm). Since all our hardwood types are available directly from stock, the terrace could be completed in just four weeks!

The styling of the terrace was entirely managed by ECLECT, led by interior designer Liselore Hell. Tpecializing in designing and realizing interiors for homes, real estate projects, and hospitality businesses, ECLECT created a warm ambiance and a cohesive look with the furniture and accessories. The décor showcases the Cumaru terrace beautifully. With sustainability in mind, residual wood was also incorporated into the styling of the terrace. For example, the planters and trash cans are made of Upcycled Wood. Upcycling is not only an environmentally conscious choice, it also gives the Cumaru terrace a unique and playful touch!
