Garden Zaltbommel
(fence)

In the summer of 2020, our collega Erica van Lopik moved house. She immediately gave the garden of her new home in Zaltbommel a thorough make-over. One side of the house needed a new fence. Since the garden is pretty deep, quite a few meters of wood were needed for construction. With a fence that is so eye-catching, a beautiful appearance of the wood (in addition to its longevity) is very important. Eventually the choice lande on FSC®-certified Louro gamela, a special wood species that grows in the northern Amazone. This warm woodtype is a perfect fit for the home and has beautiful veining. Profile: Half-wood batten block profile 18x139mm.

Louro gamela is perhapas better known under the name Loura Vermelho or Wane. This wood species is ideally suited for many outdoor applications.

Thanks to its beautiful reddish-brown color and golden sheen, Louro gamela is often used in facade cladding and fences. In this case, the Louro gamela fence beautifully contrasts with the gray garden tiles and the patch of grass. To maintain the reddish-brown color of the wood, it needs to be treated. Of course, you can also choose to let the wood age gracefully to a beautiful gray. Modern, matte black lamps have been installed on the fence to be able to spend more time outside on beautiful summer days.

For the finishing touch, robust Acariquara poles have been placed in the garden. The natural shapes of the poles give the garden a rugged look. More information about Acariquara wood can be found on this page.
